Tonymoly: Fresh Aqua Watery Foam

Hello~! I know I've been neglecting my blog recently and I owe people tutorials like concealer routine and etc. I also planned to do some cosplay related looks and tutorials. Hopefully I'll come up with them soon for now a product review because i have many backed up.

Read more for a in depth review.

So as I have finished my favorite foam wash by Etude House I was in megamall on some business for our VocaFusion event meeting. I don't go to Megamall often for it is far. I wanted to go to Etude House but to my surprise it wasn't there. In it's place I found Tony Moly. They have edgier designs in comparison to Etude House with all its Barbie-esqueness.

I took the opportunity to browse anyway. I was on a budget and was hoping to purchase something that would match my Etude house cleanser. I tried swatching and testing various cleansers they had. I clearly specified to the saleslady i wanted something that was good for sensitive skin. She pointed me towards this cleanser in a tub and the Watery Foam one. My natural choice was to go for the most hygenic one. And I think its a good match to my Etude House cleanser~!

I can't read Korean as I am not really all that gaga over the Hallyu wave. As you can see in the close up above the product is generous its size but it originally cost me 500+ but now you can get it for 298 for their valentines sale. It comes with a hygenic pump that i'm sure a lot of people will like. The design is quite minimal and I think the doodle bubble in the middle is adorable.

The product description on the bottle claims that it can do all the cleansing for you without need of makeup remover. It also claims due to its name that it shouldn't be drying on the skin. The sales lady explained that it was mainly composed of water and as you can see in the label in the back it's talking about M Water Therapy. I totally can't read anything like I said but anything that's mainly water should be non irritating to the skin. This was what I was mainly thinking when I first bought this.

So apparently it has Seaweed Complex also. I didn't notice until now but the bottom seal is a peel off. I just checked but there's only more Korean and I can't make sense of anything so I apologize. If someone can direct me to a ingredients list I'd be very grateful. On to the actual contents then~!

So when you say foam, you would expect foam. But the contents of the actual bottle is a clear gel like liquid. I would just have to say I hate the smell of this. It smells like some sort of Men's Perfume. Some people might like it but I don't like strong scents like that. Otherwise I think the product performs well. It removes most of my makeup in one wash. For waterproof liners you'd have to use a cotton pad. It removed my IN2IT Gel Liner and my Majolica Majorca Autoliner. It doesn't remove my Majolica Majorca Mascara. That mascara can't be removed by anything but the reset gel.

As for hydration I wouldn't say that it isn't drying. I mean relative to most common cleansers i think its less drying but i think my face feels a tad bit parched. A little toner and moisturizer fixes that though. Despite the after wash feel I think this in match with my skin care routine has made my skin texture better. I think my skin looks clearer but it's not acne proof. It's probably due to my owl lifestyle though.

Pros:

  • Removes most makeup (except majolica majorca's mascara)
  • Not colored or tinted
  • Did not break me out
  • Improved how my skin looked

Cons:

  • Strong scent
  • Those with dry skin might find it a bit drying.

Final Verdict
I am quite fond of this product. I like how my skin looks brighter and healthier when i use it matched with my skin care routine. Unfortunately, while the scent is tolerable, I really dislike how it smells. I would buy this over my EtuLde House cleanser if not for that scent. I'm open to looking for more cleansers apart from this one. Otherwise if you can tolerate or like the scent then I think this is indeed a pretty good one step wash.

Thanks for reading. I hope its helpful.
